SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
« on: February 14, 2018, 06:48:16 PM »
Below is a tentative schedule of events.  Information will be added as plans and reservations are made.

WEDNESDAY

Meet in the motel parking lot at 10:45 and leave at 11:00 for a ride and lunch to _________?
I'm not sure how many people will be here that early for a ride on Wednesday.  We will make plans that morning after I see how many people we have for the ride on Wednesday.

DINNER WEDNESDAY NIGHT

Meet in the motel parking lot at 6:30 to leave for dinner.  We have reservations at Huck Finn's at 7:00.

THURSDAY

CRUISE AND LUNCH

Meet in the motel parking lot at 9:30.  Leave at 9:45 for a cruise to Gatlinburg and a ride thru the Roaring Forks Motor Nature Trail.  We have lunch reservations for 12:00 at Three Jimmy's at Gatlinburg.  After lunch we will get on Glades Road and ride thru the crafts community, then onto Birds Creek Road, Upper Middle Creek Road, and back to Pigeon Forge.  Although the parking lots of the shops in the crafts community are not large enough for all of us to stop together, feel free to stop and explore on your own.  They have some very nice crafts in the shops there.

DINNER THURSDAY NIGHT

Meet in the motel parking lot at 5:20.  Leave at 5:30 to go to The Island.  We will have parking spaces reserved for us in the front parking lot adjoining the main entertainment complex.

We have dinner reservations for 6:00 at Margaritaville.

After dinner, for anyone interested in riding The Wheel, we will be able to get tickets at a group rate of $10.00 for adults and $8.00 for children if we have 15 or more people interested in riding.  I will collect the money at dinner for anyone wanting to ride.  The tickets have to be purchased in one transaction to get the group rate.  We will also have time to explore the shops at The Island.

We will meet back at the cars and leave The Island at 9:00 to cruise thru Gatlinburg.

FRIDAY

CRUISE AND LUNCH

Meet in the motel parking lot at 8:15.  Leave at 8:30.  Please have your gas tanks filled and ready to go at 8:30.  We will not pass a gas station with a lot large enough for everyone to pull in and stop.

This will be an all day ride.  We will cruise thru Wears Valley and across the Foothills Parkway to The Dragon.  We will make a stop at the store at the end of The Dragon, then thru Robbinsville, the Nantahala Gorge, and on to Cherokee, NC, for lunch.  We will then cross the Smoky Mountains to Gatlinburg and back to Pigeon Forge.

DINNER FRIDAY NIGHT

Meet in the motel parking lot at 6:30.  Leave at 6:40.  We have reservations for 7:00 at Fuddruckers.

SATURDAY

As in the past, we will be having a cruise-in to The Diner on Saturday from 11:30 to 3:30.  There is no cost to attend this event.  The Diner does ask for a small donation ONLY if you want to be considered for one of their trophies or to have a ticket for the drawing for give-a-ways.  They do not keep the money.  It goes to 2 local charities that they support.

We will meet in the motel parking lot at 10:45 and leave for The Diner at 11:00.  As everyone who has attended in the past already knows, this is a very visable location for the yellow cars to be seen and The Diner has always extended a very warm welcome to our club.  The Diner is located at 550 Winfield Dunn Parkway in Sevierville (on Hwy. 66 coming in from I-40).

DINNER SATURDAY NIGHT

We will leave The Diner at 3:30 for a cruise to dinner, taking mostly the back roads thru the country.  At the request of several club members, I have asked Bruner's Grove United Methodist Church, 2416 Knob Creek Road, Bybee, TN, if they would cater our dinner for Saturday night again, and they have graciously agreed.  This will again be a home cooked, all you can eat, buffet meal with dessert and drinks included.  Dinner will be served in their fellowship hall building and all of the money for the meal will be going to the church.  The cost will be a minimum donation of $15.00 per person for adults, $7.00 for children ages 5 - 12, and free for children age 4 and under.  This will need to be paid by cash or check when we arrive, as they have no way of accepting a credit or debit card payment.  After dinner we will cruise thru Newport to Gatlinburg and then back to Pigeon Forge.

Please let me know which dinners you plan to attend to help me with making reservations ahead of time.  Thanks for your help.

Do we have any ideas for Friday schedule yet. Just wondering how early we need to be in PF Friday morning. Don't want to miss anything.

Not sure yet if we will be crossing the mountain toward Cherokee first thing or crossing The Dragon first thing, depends on what lunch arrangements we can make for a group of this many, but we will have to leave early to make a loop that day and get back ahead of the parade traffic for Friday night.  Maybe you could meet up with us along the way,I know we will have 2 or 3 cars doing that on Friday.

I'm not sure that anything tops cream taters for him.  We've been out with him before and he would order more than one order, he didn't really need anything else.

Nanner puddin is tasty for sure. It's been a favorite here in the heart of Dixie for more than my long years. But if the good Lord ever created anything better than cream taters, he must have kept it for himself....

Rhonda; Theresa and I won't make it for the Wed. ride. We'll be on the road 8 hours to Pigeon Forge. We'll be staying at the T/S condo down Wears Valley road. Would love to stay at the host hotel again but there's no charge for the condo. We won't make the Wed evening dinner but we plan to stop by the host hotel after you guys return. Thursday we're gonna take a member day. Theresa and I have a few places and things we what to do like trying to make it up to Clingmans Dome for the first time after trying twice in the last 5 years. If you remember my mustang has been shutting off in high heat and high altitude for the last 6 years. You and Kevin came to our rescue the first time we tried to make it up there. I think I may have the problem solved but it hasn't been hot enough around here yet so i won't know for sure until we head for Pigeon Forge. We'll be attending the Thursday evening dinner at The Island and all YMR events after. Just yesterday I spent $565 on caster camber plates and new ball joints to help that old paint of mine make it thru The Dragon on Friday. Never been able to do the dragon but this year I plan to mark it off my bucket list. Hope I don't forget my motion sickness pills.... :-\
