YEAH BABY....

2
16 days and counting till Theresa and I get back to those beautiful Smoky Mountains. We haven't been able to make it the last couple of years. It's gonna be great seeing all the YMR gang again. Sure have been missing all of you guys.....

3
We were there and I do remember.

I knew that place was going to be high dollar when I saw that guy over in the corner playing the Gee-Tar, or huh, maybe it was a Pee-Annie.....

I'm not sure that anything tops cream taters for him.  We've been out with him before and he would order more than one order, he didn't really need anything else.

Rhonda I can't remember if you guys attended the Mustangs at the Mansion show at the Biltmore Mansion in 2010. It was a MCA show. While there the gang had dinner at sum high dollar restaurant. My meal came with cream taters of course and they were awesome. I started to order another side order when I saw the price for a side order of cream taters was $7 bucks. I couldn't believe it. Who in there right mind would pay 7 bucks for 50 cents worth of cream taters................. they were worth every penny..... ;D

Rhonda; Theresa and I won't make it for the Wed. ride. We'll be on the road 8 hours to Pigeon Forge. We'll be staying at the T/S condo down Wears Valley road. Would love to stay at the host hotel again but there's no charge for the condo. We won't make the Wed evening dinner but we plan to stop by the host hotel after you guys return. Thursday we're gonna take a member day. Theresa and I have a few places and things we what to do like trying to make it up to Clingmans Dome for the first time after trying twice in the last 5 years. If you remember my mustang has been shutting off in high heat and high altitude for the last 6 years. You and Kevin came to our rescue the first time we tried to make it up there. I think I may have the problem solved but it hasn't been hot enough around here yet so i won't know for sure until we head for Pigeon Forge. We'll be attending the Thursday evening dinner at The Island and all YMR events after. Just yesterday I spent $565 on caster camber plates and new ball joints to help that old paint of mine make it thru The Dragon on Friday. Never been able to do the dragon but this year I plan to mark it off my bucket list. Hope I don't forget my motion sickness pills.... :-\

Myrtle Beach is not just a beach. It's known as The Grand Strand. It's a entertainment, fishing, sporting and amusement destination with 60 miles of white sandy beach's from Little River to Winyah Bay. And even though I love that beach, I hardly get a chance to sink my toes in it because there's just so many fun things to do in Myrtle. Mustang Week has a lot to keep us busy for the whole week. But for those members like myself who want to make the week both a YMR/ Mustang Week Show and a personal beach vacation, here are a few ideas highlighted below of fun things to do in Myrtle Beach.

Two really nice Casino Yachts. Plenty of slot machines and five different live table games. All you can eat Buffett. It's worth it just for the ride out into the ocean on a nice boat.  Scroll down this link for a short video...https://www.bigmcasino.com/

September is the heart of golf season in Myrtle Beach. Throw the sticks in the trunk. The area is home to more than 100 golf courses....https://www.visitmyrtlebeach.com/things-to-do/golf/

Myrtle is famous for it's many dinner and non dinner shows... https://www.visitmyrtlebeach.com/things-to-do/shows-entertainment/

Dining Myrtle has more restaurants than you can shake a stick at. Last count was 246 by Tripadvisor...https://www.visitmyrtlebeach.com/restaurants/

Nanner puddin is tasty for sure. It's been a favorite here in the heart of Dixie for more than my long years. But if the good Lord ever created anything better than cream taters, he must have kept it for himself....

A quote from the Official Mustang Week website;
Mustang Week is different from any other event in the country.  It's not merely a show.  If you attend all the scheduled events, you will see that Mustang Week is an “experience” that can be rivaled by no other weekend show.  Where else can you combine a beach vacation with all kinds of driving events and shows?  Only at Mustang Week!  (end quote)

Below is the Mustang Week Event Schedule for Sept. 4th-8th 2018.
Start & End times are listed for each individual event on each day.
There may be some M/W sponsor side events later. As those come about I will post them here in this thread.
As always YMR members may choose as few or as many events in which to participate in.
There will be no exclusive YMR events other than these planned for the daytime hours of Mustang Week

The folks that run Mustang Week were really using their heads when they picked the week of Sept. 4-9th to move the Mustang Week show to. All of the attractions in the area are still open including a limited schedule at Myrtle Waves water park. The only thing that's missing are the endless long lines everywhere you go because the wild collage kids and all other schools are back in session. And most attractions drop their prices after school starts back. The weather in the first week of Sept. is the best weather of the year to visit Myrtle Beach. The air temp has dropped for the high 90s and low 100s of July to the mid 80s. But the water temp is still the same as July and August the two highest months of the year. It's the best time of the year for a beach vacation and a swim in Myrtle Beach.

Scroll down on this link below from AccuWeather for the month of September to see a calendar with the last 6 days of August and the month of September air temperatures. From Sept. 4-9th the daily average temp is 86 daytime / 67 nightly

Scroll down this link below from The National Weather Service to see a chart of the September water temperatures in Myrtle Beach. Notice that the water temp for the first week in Sept. is the same as in the two warmest water temperature months of the year July and August, 83 degrees.
